Vision - To create a regional school where high academic expectations coupled with an emphasis on the arts provides a well-rounded education that fosters respect for self and others while enhancing each individual’s contribution to society.

Mission Statement - The mission of the Northern Colorado Academy of Arts and Knowledge (NCAAK) is to craft and implement an imaginative and rigorous learning environment for teaching and learning. This program will link academics to the arts and link an arts education to community cultural resources. Ultimately, our goal is to teach students the joy of learning and the importance of expressing individual talent artistically and academically.

Slogan: Pride through Performance

Curriculum – Incorporates a core curriculum with Paragon Curriculum and an Arts Focus that enhances learning by incorporating multiple instructional styles. Core curriculum includes top-rated Open Court Reading, SRA Real Math, Harcourt Brace Science, Spanish and internationally-acclaimed Paragon.

Fine Arts – Each student will choose a specific art discipline to concentrate on. Those disciplines include:

• Music (instrumental, voice)

• Theatre (acting, stagecraft, puppetry, dance, performance)

• Visual Arts (painting/drawing, sculpting, graphics, creative expression)

All students receive instruction in all arts areas and arts focus areas may be changed at end of each semester.

Technology – Fully integrated into the classroom and used daily as part of the curriculum rather than in a “tech lab”. It is the goal of TPAAK to have at least one computer for every three students in the classroom. Currently the school averages one computer for every three students in grades 3-6 and has 2-3 computers in grades K-2.
